 Roll Eyes Last week the HSE announced the accident figures for the construction industry for 2009/10.  In construction there were 41 fatal injuries, which is a rate of 2.0 deaths per
100 000 workers. This compares to an average rate of 3.2 for the previous five years. Thus the rate for 2009/10 is 37% below the average for the previous five years.

Whilst one death is too many these figures are certainly showing a trend going in the right direction.  Does this mean that the extra emphasis on clients duties and on general competency introduced by CDM 2007 has worked?
